So a week ago, when ten of us sat around in my dorm room frantically trying to buy available movie tickets for the Sundance Film Festival, the title Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same really appealed to David and myself. Then we read the description, and we weren’t so sure. So I felt pretty bad dragging him to see this movie today. Turns out I didn’t have to though, because it ended up being great. It was entirely in black and white, and it was totally out there. But it was hilarious. The director has a really interesting sense of humor and the actors were all quirky and friendly. We ended up riding a bus to the theater with the entire cast, and they were fun to talk to and hang out with. Clay Drinko, an actor in the film as well as the film’s musical composer, was awesome and spent a lot of time talking with us on the bus after the film.
We expected this film to blow big time, but we ended up loving it. It’s going to have a strong cult following. And I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s funny, quirky, different and appropriate.
